Let's make a lens effect on text. We will need the script
Layer Effects.
For that we open a new file: 600 x 200 px and transparent background. We chose to texto.Yo
tipografía.Vamos'm going to do with typography georgia bold, for the color of the text will use the 30abf4 . Write the text, in this case "gimp" .

Now cut: we Ctrl-X twice

Let's give some texture to the edges, select the color selection tool for any point on the transparency and invert the selection, so let Filters> Map> Displace where we give 2 px value x and y:
